Monster Genetics  

How to Create your monster:

1. Take turns with a whanau member to roll the dice to see if a trait is dominant or recessive:  Roll a 1, 2 or 3 the trait is recessive.  Roll a 4, 5 or 6 the trait is dominant.
2. Place a tick in either the dominant or recessive box depending on the number rolled.
3. Use Google Draw to create your monster based on the traits  ticked.

This week we learned about crystals in science.

Science Fair

Yesterday we had our school Science Fair. My science investigation was about Candle See-saw.

Hovercraft

B E G I N N I N G	TITLE	Balloon Hovercraft
	QUESTION	How does a hovercraft hover?
	HYPOTHESIS	I predict that ...

M I D D L E	EQUIPMENT  AND MATERIALS:	Balloon Bottle cap Disc Hot glue gun
	PROCEDURE:	Step 1: Glue the bottle cap over the CD hole. Step 2:  Blow up the balloon. When it is fully inflated twist the end so no air comes out. Step 3: Stretch the balloon over the end of the bottle cap. Step 4: Open up the cap and place the CD on the surface. Step 5: Untwist balloon and let go.
	OBSERVATIONS/RESULTS:

CONCLUSION:

The air from the balloon creates a cushion of moving air between the disc and the CD and reduces the friction across the surface.

STEAM activites

This week we made things out of different materials. I made a baby enderman out  of black paper and purple pipe cleaner for the eyes
